Ayurveda is an ancient Indian system of healing that looks at the whole person – their physical, mental and emotional states. Each person is unique and so Ayurveda focuses on gaining a deeper understanding of each person’s specific constitution/ prakriti or natural balanced state. An Ayurvedic practitioner works to ascertain the causes of any problems, imbalances, or diseases the patient is facing and to identify the root causes of these imbalances. We look at the whole person when treating an imbalance and create a unique and personalised treatment plan for the individual to address present symptoms, heal and prevent recurrence. We work to provide the patient with the tools and support required to return to a balanced state and stay balanced moving forward.
About Ayurveda
About Pia
I grew up in India and was surrounded by Ayurveda my entire life. I took for granted old wives’ tales and my grandmothers’ recipes, not knowing that they all had their foundation in this 5000 year old tradition. When I later moved to the United States and then the United Kingdom, I gravitated towards Ayurveda to help with personal issues for myself and family members. I was amazed at the changes I saw through Ayurveda--for issues ranging from acid reflux, UTIs, migraines, menopause, anxiety, stress etc—and was hooked. While I have deep respect for allopathy, I was disillusioned with the temporary nature and numerous side effects I had experienced. I decided to explore a more naturopathic path and so began my journey with Ayurveda. It has been a long journey for me but the results have been life changing and I am left with deep gratitude for this ancient science.
Having personally experienced the benefits of Ayurveda I became passionate about learning more. Ayurveda became a way of life for me, helping me to navigate diet, lifestyle and my relationships with others and myself. I started my journey as a student at the Ayurvedic Institute of the UK from where I qualified as a Nutrition & Lifestyle Consultant in 2021. I then decided to pursue my studies further with the Ayurvedic Institute of the United States under the tutelage of Dr. Vasant Lad, B.A.M.S., M.A.Sc., a leading Ayurvedic physician, teacher, author and founder of the Ayurvedic Institute in Asheville, NorthCarolina & Pune, India. After intense study of the principles of Ayurvedic healing, Marma therapy, AyurYoga, Pranayama, Sanskrit, etc I graduated in June 2024 as an Ayurvedic Practitioner.
I have worked with many clients over the past three years, always committed to spreading the knowledge of Ayurveda and to giving them the tools to bring health and balance in their lives; I am with them every step of the journey.
